Three Thoughts, Lockdown Day 37

1. I do not envy the world’s dogs their future separation anxiety.

2. The continued existence of the United States as a single entity is society’s most far-reaching example of the sunk cost fallacy.

3. Agnosticism aside, the construction of a truly excessive number of churches such that I can go onto the roof at noon to hear bells pealing from every direction and reminding me that the rest of Rome is still there is the biggest benefit I’ve ever personally gotten from Catholicism, eclipsing even the inappropriate joy I get from High Church camp.

And one bonus question: Is it possible to forget how to wear normal trousers? Who are pants, why are zippers, when are belts? Asking for a friend.

  1. Yes to all of those, especially the first. My dog is so spoiled right now! It’s going to be a tough adjustment to reality when I have to start leaving the house again and she can’t snooze on my lap all day.
