How do you like them apples, “Dewey Defeats Truman”?

This is an actual news article with what is, perhaps, the most wonderful headline in the history of media.

(No offense intended to anyone who falls victim to the cannibal rats. Surely, even their bereaved family members must recognize the awesomeness of this headline.)

  1. Ye gods! See what you mean! Bit close to home for me, though: may have to take evasive action – or hire an aquatic Pied Piper to lure the damn things down to Davy Jones’ Locker.

    1. Although, if they’re cannibal rats, they should just be eating each other. Which makes one wonder how there are any left at all — there should just be one very large rat, sitting on a pile of rat bones, slowly going insane.

      1. Sounds like a James Herbert novel, doesn’t it?! I reckon the little blighters (or one HUGE blighter) will, after so long at sea, have tired of their own species and will be keen to diversify, shall we say, and none too fussy about what, or who, they sink their teeth into!

      2. They breed SO FAST, though. So they’re probably incesty cannibal rats, like Game of Thrones meets Redwall.

  2. I have so many questions. First, if a car stays parked on a street for more than a few weeks, we tow it. A ship is adrift at sea for a year, and nobody thinks to retrieve it?! Second, I just imagine the ship looking like a scene out of Ratatouille.
